In the impending future, AI will be almost everywhere. Many mobile devices will have facial recognition and virtual assistants. Public spaces could utilize AI by scanning those who enter, identifying them and matching them to a database. This database will hold information such as personal data, all mobile communication, and even their body's unique protein makeup (Anderson, 2020).
Artificial Intelligence has the ability to diminish cyber attacks and boost security. This creates an increased push for the development of AI to aid in cyber security applications for both the public and private sectors (Taddeo, 2019). As reported by the IBM's Institute for Business Value, "82 percent of all enterprises and 93 percent of high-performing enterprises are now considering or moving ahead with AI adoption." The advancement of AI in technology will increase revenue, improve user experience and service, decrease costs, and control threats (Rossi, 2018).
In the future, algorithms will be able to connect information from many sources to predict governmental opposition. The sources from which data can be link are travel records, family, friends, and associates, browsing habits and history, and purchases. While China is our main competition in the AI world, analysts still think that America will hold on to the lead for at least another 10 years (Andersen, 2020).
While AI is very powerful and has great capabilities, on a wide scale, I will not be able to integrate traditional AI into any websites or apps that I build. It would require quite a significant amount of additional knowledge on algorithmic programming and machine learning. I do, however, find the AI applications on a smaller scale which are available for use in design software useful for web design, image and video editing. RunwayML has a beta version available that uses AI for photo and video editing. It allows the editor to create models to remove the background of a video and in essence, make it a greenscreen and replace the entire background with anything. This application would be very useful for motion graphics. My future inquiries in AI will include Google's open source code on AI, N00MKRAD's flowframes for video editing using AI, and RIFE for edits to video framerates using AI.
